Cupcake Stands

Everyone is crazy about cupcakes at the moment, so I thought that I would do a little review on the Cupcake Stands that I have.  They all have their benefits and disadvantages, so hopefully this will help you to see which style of stand might just suit you :)

Pink Wire Three-Tiered Cupcake Stand
Note - cupcake toppers are leaning out away from wire on tier above
Cassadiva likes...
+ Pretty pink!
+ Stands tall and proud, looks very appealing on the buffet table
+ Holds large muffin-sized cakes, ideal for catering for large groups of people (or hungry people!)

Cassadiva warns...
- Limited by the colour (pink is not usable for every function)
- The space for each cake is large, so I generally have to do a double-batch of the mixture, as the cakes are really large and it looks silly if the stand is not full
- Only able to be used for cupcakes/muffins, not other foods
- Not ideal for putting in centre of meal table, as it blocks guests view of one another
- Unable to light candles on each cake, flame will burn base of cake on tier above
- Hard to use cupcake toppers, as they hit the tier above (not enough distance between tiers)

White Ceramic Three-Tiered Stand

Cassadiva likes...
+ Able to use for all sorts of foods (cupcakes, muffins, sandwiches, fruit, slices, cookies, and more)
+ Neutral colour matches in with any themed celebration
+ Easy to unscrew for storage
+ Able to light candles on small/medium cupcakes if desired - won't burn through ceramic
+ Able to use cupcake toppers on small/medium sized cakes, without hitting tier above

Cassadiva warns...
- Not easy to transport to events (heavy, breakable)
- Not ideal for putting in centre of meal table, as it blocks guests view of one another

Ivory Wire Carrier Tray

Cassadiva likes...
+ Great for transporting to events (light and easy to carry)
+ Fits 16 good sized cupcakes (only one mixture required)
+ Neutral colour matches in with any themed celebration
+ Cupcake toppers are displayed easily, as there is no row above to worry about
+ Able to burn candles on each cake, without burning cakes above
+ Can be placed in centre of meal table, does not obstruct guests view of one another
+ Looks great on buffet table too!

Cassadiva warns...
- Only suitable for cupcakes/muffins, not other sorts of food
- Can be a bit tricky to get small cupcakes out of the wire frames without damaging icing

Small Wire Three-Tiered Stand (27cm tall)
My newest purchase - haven't even used it yet!
Cassadiva likes...
+ Ideal for mini-muffins or small cupcakes
+ Can be placed in centre of meal table, does not obstruct guests view of one another
+ Neutral colour matches in with any themed celebration
+ Cupcake toppers are displayed easily, cake leans outwards, so no need to worry about row above

Cassadiva warns...
- Only suitable for small cakes, not a huge quantity of food (really need 2 stands)
- Only suitable for cupcakes/muffins, not other sorts of food
- Not safe to transport to events on stand (transfer from container once you arrive)

So, there you have it!  Cassadiva's Choice :)

They all have their pros and cons, it really depends on your individual preferences and requirements.  Personally, I think that my white ceramic stand is the one I use the most - as it is the most versatile in terms of being able to use it for all sorts of foods.  But the ivory carrier is my new favourite at the moment, as I am really into cupcake toppers and it is the best option for these decorations!
