My Wedding Day Survival Kit
It is a bit of a family tradition that we give each other what we call a 'Wedding Day Survival Kit'. It is something that we hold really close to our hearts, because it is actually something that our dear departed Granny gave to my Mum and Dad 37 years ago. She gave them their 'kit' when they moved into their first house in 1975. We have adopted the idea and replicated over the recent years, as each of us girls have been married.

Hair - GHD Curls with Flower Clip
I promised a while back to start sharing photos of my hair. 2012 is My Year of Good Hair! I have had lots of fun experimenting with different styles, and am starting to get a collection of photos of the different ways that I wear my hair.
Recently, I decided to curl my hair (which actually took longer than usual because a few strands just didn't want to cooperate!), and I thought that rather than go with a headband, I would just pop in a clip.

My New Laundry - Overhead Cupboard Organisation
This post follows on from my previous posts where I have shared my new laundry here and here. Today we are going to have a tour of inside the overhead cupboards...
We will start with my treasured clothes airer cupboard. The airer is at the very top of the cupboard, and I didn't want to waste the storage space at the bottom of this cupboard, so I decided that this is where I would keep my 'House' caddies, which hold my weekly cleaning products and cleaning rags. These caddies are easy to lift out in the event that I need to use the clothes line, so it isn't really an issue having them in here as far as functionality of the clothes line goes. It also keeps the caddies neatly tucked away (although they are so cute!), and is tall enough to fit them with the handle standing up. You can also see that I popped in a removable hook on the side of the cupboard for my favourite cleaning brush.

Meal Planning Inspiration
I was feeling like I was in a bit of rut with my meal planning recently. I felt like we were having the same meals over and over, and I don't know about you, but I get tired of cooking the same foods...
Last night I decided to search for some insiration the old fashioned way - not online, but with some recipe books! I picked out half a dozen books from my collection and sat down for about an hour of browsing pleasure!

A Little Beach Survival Kit
Last week for my birthday, we took my beautiful family in our boat, over to South Straddie for a glorious day of fun in the sun! It was just the perfect weather - sunny, warm and a gentle northerly breeze.

My New Laundry - The Cupboard Design
Following on from my post yesterday where I finally revealed our new laundry... today I thought I would go into a bit of detail about the design of the cupboards. I tend to totally over-analyse everything, and definitely put way too much thought into this laundry - but in this instance, it has resulted with heaps of storage space!
So, I mentioned previously that I used the Bunnings online planning tool to design my laundry. Thus, we obviously used the Bunnings cupboards to make it. We looked at the flat packs at Mitre 10 and Ikea too, but Bunnings worked out to be the cheapest, plus I loved their laundry range and I wouldn't have my pull-out clothes airer (that so many of you love too!) if went with another brand. The brand is called Flatpax - you can check out their website here. I think they have really nailed the functionality of their cupboards, as they have trough cupboards for under the sink, laundry hamper pull out cupboards, broom cupboards and more! Even though I didn't use all of these, I loved having the option to pick and choose from such a great range.

My New Laundry - Part 1
For those of you who have been following me for a while now, you would know that last year we renovated our laundry... and I never did get around to posting the finished photos. This is probably because it is still not quite finished (in my eyes), but I decided that I would share with you what we have done so far - which is actually a whole lot!

Easter Bunny Biscuits
I know Easter is now done and dusted, but I have one last egg-cellent idea to share ;) And since you are all probably chocolate-d out, this is a nice sweet treat that isn't chocolate.
I decided to make these Easter Bunny biscuits for something new this year! I think they turned out so cute!

Easter Decorating
Today I just wanted to share a few little decorations/displays that have Easter-ised our home this week! You may recognise some of the decorations that I have recycled from the Easter decorating in my office at work (which you can read about here).
On top of the microwave I have my Martha Stewart Special Occasions book opened up to the Easter chapter, along with a basket of glittery carrots.

Easter 2011
As I have been recently catching up on my Project Life from 2011, I came across our Easter photos from our celebrations at my Mum and Dad's house last year. I thought I would just share some pictures of our Easter Sunday...
I made my very first cupcake toppers for these scrummy chocolate muffins.

My Study - Tub Labels
Step One in my study makeover (which you can read more about here) was to reorganise the built-in cupboard. I am lucky to have a really deep cupboard built into this room... When we first moved in, I had my father-in-law build me these two great bookshelves, which turned the cupboard into a walk-in for my schoolwork and folders.
Unfortunately, as you can see by the pictures, my resources soon outgrew these shelves, which resulted in everything overflowing onto the floor! I have seriously tidied up this cupboard dozens of times over the years... but I just never found a system that I could maintain.

My Study - The 'Before' Pictures
This Easter break, I decided that I would tackle my study... I just love a new organising project! This post will show you the 'before photos', and I will post the 'after' shots, as I work my way through the room.
Photo #1 - this is looking in from the doorway - it doesn't look so bad, huh?

The Year of Good Hair
When I sat down at the start of the year to write my goals for 2012, I decided that 2012 was going to be The Year of Good Hair! Now to most people this probably seems bizarre, because while most people don't particularly like their hair, they have managed to find a style or do that suits their hair and don't particularly worry about it.
Well, I have REALLY BAD hair. I am not just saying it, I really do have bad hair. I get my hair from my Mum, and if it's any indication of what it is naturally like, our hairdresser says Mum has 'steel wool hair'. Our hair is just wild, frizzy, wavy and out of control.

This is after blow-drying... A gazillion fly-aways!! |
