Hair - Headbands

Since learning to curl my hair last year in The Year of Good Hair, I have come very attached to headbands!  I find them such a useful accessory, as they not only provide bit of flair to a simple hairdo, but you can colour coordinate them with your outfit, and they also keep your hair out of your face, which I love.

I guess my signature headband would have to be the one that I bought for Christmas a few years back...  I am sure that you all recognise this as my 'Cassadiva' photo!  This was taken on Christmas day, when I was trying on my new apron that I had received as a gift. 

Hair - Hair Donut

It has been a long time since I have done a 'Hair' post, but I found these photos on my computer from last year, and knew that I had wanted to do a blog post using them, so here it is!

Having fairly short and thin hair, I was always envious of the girls who had a big bun wrapped on top of their heads.  Then I learned about Hair Donuts and thought it could be something that might just solve my problem of a puny little bun!  And it did!

How to Keep Hair Ribbons Crinkle Free

This is the best little idea!  One of my girlfriends let me in on this one...

Use your hair straightener to iron your hair ribbons flat!  It is the best trick!  I usually have my straightener on every day, and if I decide to wear a ribbon in my pony tail, it is so easy to just run my ribbon through the straightener, and it immediately removes any creases and kinks that were left over from the last bow that was in there!

Hair - Messy Side Bun

This hair do is a variation of the fish-tail braid that I showed you in this post here.  Instead of leaving a plain pony tail, in the heat of summer, I prefer to get my hair all up and off my shoulders.  I also find in winter that I like to wear my hair completely up when I wear my jackets with fluffy collars (to get my hair out of the way).

Hair - GHD Curls with Flower Clip

I promised a while back to start sharing photos of my hair.  2012 is My Year of Good Hair!  I have had lots of fun experimenting with different styles, and am starting to get a collection of photos of the different ways that I wear my hair.

Recently, I decided to curl my hair (which actually took longer than usual because a few strands just didn't want to cooperate!), and I thought that rather than go with a headband, I would just pop in a clip.

The Year of Good Hair

When I sat down at the start of the year to write my goals for 2012, I decided that 2012 was going to be The Year of Good Hair!  Now to most people this probably seems bizarre, because while most people don't particularly like their hair, they have managed to find a style or do that suits their hair and don't particularly worry about it.

Well, I have REALLY BAD hair.  I am not just saying it, I really do have bad hair.  I get my hair from my Mum, and if it's any indication of what it is naturally like, our hairdresser says Mum has 'steel wool hair'.  Our hair is just wild, frizzy, wavy and out of control.
